Our food philosophy is rooted in a love for nature and the pure flavours. We use seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, favour plant-based choices and Fair Trade products, and always operate with environmental responsibility in mind.
At the heart of our menus are game, wild fish, and the finest tastes of Finnish culinary tradition. In summer, our grill and smoker create seasonal delicacies – with flame-grilled salmon as a classic favourite that delights every guest. In winter, guests enjoy atmospheric dinners by candlelight, beside the fireplace, or gathered around the kota’s open fire – experiences that warm both body and soul.
We always take dietary requirements into account when informed in advance. For private occasions such as weddings or anniversaries, we design menus together with our clients, tailored to their wishes.
In the forest landscape of Karhunpesä, on a separate estate, lies Nuuksio Reindeer Park and the atmospheric White Reindeer Kota.
In the traditional Lappish kota, you can enjoy a lunch or a 3–4 course dinner prepared by our wilderness chef over an open fire, in the company of reindeer – a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else in Southern Finland. The kota seats 35 guests for dining, and around the fire there is space for larger groups to enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the flames. Here, Finnish tranquility meets the unique surroundings of Nuuksio National Park. From the forest terrace of the kota, you can meet our friendly reindeer and feed them lichen while our staff shares stories about their lives.
